Sustainability Champions
At Nutri Nuts, we are committed to achieving sustainability by implementing eco-friendly practices across our operations. Engaging in climate change forums and discussions both locally and internationally allows us to stay informed, share insights and continuously improving our efforts.

Our goal at Nutri Nuts and Fruits Limited is to improve agricultural value chains by offering premium nut processing and exporting solutions. We are pleased to announce our collaboration with Concern Worldwide on a ground-breaking project to enhance post-harvest management for grains and pulses in Tana River, in keeping with our dedication to helping smallholder farmers.
High post-harvest losses and restricted access to organized markets are some of the major issues that farmers in the area are facing, and this effort is a reaction to these issues. Even though Tana River communities have been resilient in embracing climate-smart agriculture, many farmers face challenges due to inadequate storage facilities, which results in substantial food losses and financial losses. Additionally, smallholder farmers often fall prey to exploitative middlemen due to a lack of organized market access, further discouraging agricultural production.
Through this project, we aim to provide innovative and sustainable storage and aggregation solutions, ensuring farmers can safely store their produce and sell at optimal market prices. By working closely with stakeholders, we will create a market-driven approach that safeguards food security, enhances farmers’ incomes, and strengthens the agricultural sector in Tana River.

We have been running a program of distributing free/subsidized grafted macadamia seedlings to farmers and schools, especially in the Mt. Kenya region. By planting more fruit trees, we create a positive impact on the climate while at the same time providing income to the farmers and schools.

We have set up an 8 acre model farm in Tigania west sub county in Meru. The farm was set up in 2018 and currently has mature Macadamia nut trees. This farm is used as a training center by farmers in the region.

We have set up a macadamia tree seedlings nursery at our processing facility in Meru. Quality grafted macadamia seedlings are produced at the nursery and distributed to farmers in the region and or sold at subsidized prices to the farmers. The grafted seedlings are early maturing, high yielding and drought resistant.

We have taken huge steps to empower youth and women in the area surrounding the factory with 60% of our employees being women, and women and youth making up 95% of our entire team.
